Q.

What can I change to lose more weight?

I've lost quite a bit of weight over the last four years steadily. I just want to lose a few more pounds but can't shift them. I've been stuck at the same weight for months. I've been doing the slimming world diet and its worked fine, and I go to the gym (running, cross trainer and bike) most days. What can I change to lose more weight.

There's a theory that everyone has their own comfortable "set point" weight, and the difficulty you may have is that the weight you've attained is simply what your body likes to be at the most.

You don't say how overweight (if at all) you are, but if you're already within the healthy weight range for your height and simply want to lose half a stone or so for cosmetic purposes this could explain why you are finding it so tough. In answer to your question all you can really change to lose more weight is to reduce your calories and increase your exercise. As you're already doing quite a bit of exercise the main focus needs to be on shaving those calories some more (ouch)!

If the figure you have been given by Nutracheck isn't achieving anything, try going an extra 200 calories below, but don't drop less than 1000 calories, and preferably not less than 1200 calories.

The only other thing you could do is shake your exercise programme up a bit - try swimming or squash instead of running for example as the body tends to become use to one from of exercise and become more efficient (i.e. expend fewer calories) in doing it.

If none of this works and you're already a healthy weight you may just need to start loving yourself as you are and accepting you probably won't change. It can be very liberating once you make this happen!
