What's the truth on caffeine and weight?

Does drinking caffeine contribute to weight problems? I have managed to get down to approx. 4 coffees per day (semi milk and no sugar) but I have heard it causes water retention, weight gain, bloating etc. I also carry the majority of my weight problems round my waist - is this also partly due to coffee or is that a dieters myth?

In fact a strong coffee before aerobic exercise can actually increase the proportion of fuel you burn that is fat. So don?t change your coffee habit if you are enjoying it...
