How much weight have you lost and how long did it take?

In May 2022 I was 19st 2lbs268lbs121.6kg. I stayed around 18st for a few years and by July that year, I weighed 17st 7lbs. I decided enough was enough, which kick-started my weight loss journey. I'm currently 15st 2lbs212lbs96.1kg so within 4 months, I have achieved a 2st loss but I have lost 4st56lbs25.4kg total so far.

What prompted your decision to lose weight?

I was sick of looking in the mirror and how I was feeling about myself. I wanted some control back in my life.

How did you hear about Nutracheck?

I came across Nutracheck when I was trying to find a decent scanning app that could track my calories and I have not used anything else since.

Has your weight stayed fairly consistent over the years, or have you always had to manage it?

My weight fluctuated a lot, but since using this app more seriously I've managed to maintain a steady weight loss.

Have you experienced any health improvements?

I have less pain in my body and I believe my PCOS flair-ups are becoming less frequent.

How easy was it to fit the changes you made into your lifestyle?

It was very easy to fit the changes into my lifestyle as I made sure to still have the odd treat. I worked my way backwards with the app so I would pre-plan dinner and allow myself if I still had the calories left over. Even if I forget to track, I just log it later and I find I'm still on track for the day with my allowance and I have more trust in myself with meals.

What was the most difficult thing about your weight-loss journey?

I feel like the most difficult thing was getting started. I always say I'll start on Monday or cheat one meal and then I cheat for the rest of the day.

How do you feel now compared to before?

I feel more confident. When I go shopping for clothes, I'm no longer as paranoid that things won't fit.

Any notable milestones to report?

I'm still on my journey but one of the best moments was going to the shops when I was looking for a coat. I tried on a random size and I found that the size was a lot smaller than I expected as it fitted with room! This made me want to try even harder.

What 3 tips would you give to anyone who has weight to lose?

  1. Allow yourself the treats. Just make sure to work them within your calorie allowance.
  2. Drink lots of water and up your protein. My skin has felt so much nicer since!
  3. Weight lift as much and as often as you can. I'm not a fan of cardio but weights give me the burn I need.
