Shirlie had always struggled with yo-yo dieting. But when she entered perimenopause, which can naturally prompt weight gain due to changing hormone levels, she realised there were no quick fixes. So, she decided to adopt a healthier, more sustainable approach to food and fitness – that's when she discovered Nutracheck.
"I was amazed at how simple Nutracheck was to use. It has this fantastic scanner, so you can scan the barcodes on food packaging and get the full nutritional values," explains the 55-year-old. "It was eye-opening because I'd often buy what I thought were 'healthy' options, but I discovered a lot of the food and drink I was consuming was high in sugar."
Shirlie – who weighed 14st 8lbs when she started using the app, and now weighs 10st 11lbs – has also seen benefits beyond the scales.
"My concentration is much better," she says "A couple of years back I had a lot of brain fog, and I don't get that now. I had a health check at the doctors, and for the first time in a long time, everything came back great."
Shirlie has also discovered a new love for weight training: "I started nine months ago, and I haven't looked back – I love it!"
