How much weight have you lost and how long did it take?

I've lost 11st 2.8 lbs 156.8lbs 71.1kg and it has taken 3 and a half years.

What prompted your decision to lose weight?

Fitness in my old age! I don't want to be an incapacitated pensioner!

How did you hear about Nutracheck?

MI honestly don't know - it's so long ago now!

Has your weight stayed fairly consistent over the years, or have you always had to manage it?

My weight just went up and up. I've never seriously dieted, ever. Weight loss groups all seemed too complicated to me, so I never even tried those.

Have you experienced any health improvements?

I have noticed huge health improvements - I can walk for ages now. I also find stars really easy, plus my blood pressure medication has even been reduced.

How easy was it to fit the changes you made into your lifestyle?

I found the changes incredibly easy. If I want a cake, I have a cake.

What was the most difficult thing about your weight-loss journey?

For me, it's socialising. There's always something going on and that makes it hard. It's been a 3-year and 6-month journey for me so far. I have no doubt I could have lose the weight quicker - but I wasn't prepared to become a hermit for it. But by taking it slowly I have genuinely learned new eating habits.

How do you feel now compared to before?

I enjoy being able to buy clothes that fit nicely. It is an amazing feeling.

Any notable milestones to report?

If you step on the scales one week and you've lost nothing - or even put on - don't allow that to derail you. There were many times where I lost nothing one week, then dropped 6lb the following week!

What 3 tips would you give to anyone who has weight to lose?

  1. I never understood the term 'trust the process' before I did this, but now I do. If you fall off the wagon, get STRAIGHT back on. Don't write off the rest of the week or the rest of the weekend. If you just pick yourself up and carry on, you WILL lose the weight.
  2. DON'T weigh yourself after a night out. It will make you think that there's absolutely no point in doing this because one night puts all the weight back on, however, that's not true as it's a false reading. Always leave a clear, full week before you weigh yourself again.
  3. If you have a lot of weight to lose, have a night off each week. It gives you something to look forward to and breaks the monotony.
