How much weight have you lost and how long did it take?

I first joined Nutracheck in September 2018. I became pregnant with my beautiful daughter who was born May 2020 and reached my goal weight October 2020. I've lost a total of 4 and a half stone throughout my journey.

What prompted your decision to lose weight?

I saw a picture of myself on a family day out and didn't even recognise myself - I had gone from a size 10 to a size 18 in the space of a year or so. I also wanted to start IVF treatment and knew that a healthy lifestyle would improve my chances of getting pregnant.

How did you hear about Nutracheck?

I was searching the App Store for a weight loss app and thought I would give the Free Trial a go as I had nothing to lose.

Has your weight stayed fairly consistent over the years, or have you always had to manage it?

My weight has been a problem since I was a teenager. I tried multiple diets which I could never stick to and ultimately would give up and pile more weight on.

How easy was it to fit the changes you made into your lifestyle?

It wasn't too difficult to change my eating habits. No food is off limits, so I didn't feel like I needed to radically change my diet. As a busy support worker, I need quick easy meals. Just had to plan ahead and eat in moderation.

What was the most difficult thing?

The most difficult thing for me was remembering to weigh my food in the beginning! Now it's automatic and I don't even notice I'm doing it.

How do you feel now compared to before?

I don't get out of breath running up the stairs. I feel healthier and more confident in myself. I can (mostly) keep up with my amazing miracle baby and be a better mum for her.

Any notable milestones to report?

When I moved from being obese to a healthy weight. I also used to suffer with terrible knee pain which has completely gone since I’ve lost the weight. Finally, being lighter now than before I was pregnant is a big achievement.

What 3 tips would you give to anyone who has weight to lose?

  1. Take it one day at a time! One bad day doesn't need to ruin the rest of them.
  2. Exercise even if you can't do much, I used to get my 10,000 steps a day and that was enough for me
  3. Plan ahead. Try to plan your meals for the week and then you can fit in treats. Everything in moderation, don’t deny yourself a bit of what you want.
