How much weight have you lost and how long did it take?

I have lost 9st 7lbs133lbs60.3kg – I started just a few weeks into the first Covid-19 lockdown.

What prompted your decision to lose weight?

The pandemic prompted my start as I was worried about the virus being so overweight. Also staying at home not moving as much, I knew that I would only get bigger and already knew I needed to lose weight.

How did you hear about Nutracheck?

I heard about Nutracheck on Facebook.

Has your weight stayed fairly consistent over the years, or have you always had to manage it?

I have always been bigger than I should've been and have tried the usual diets numerous times since I was 15. When I started Nutracheck I was at my biggest as I've always gained the few pounds I managed to lose and more on top.

How easy was it to fit the changes you made into your lifestyle?

It was pretty easy to fit the changes in as I've never had to deprive myself like some other diets. I always save some calories for a treat in the evening, as evening snacking was a big thing for me.

What was the most difficult thing?

The most difficult thing I guess was trying to get my head around being able to eat normal foods and lose weight. I felt guilty at first if I ate what people would class as a 'bad food' and worry that I would gain weight because of it.

How do you feel now compared to before?

My day-to-day life is easier, my job is much easier. I am a pre-school teacher and have more energy now. I can do more things with my own children too, and don't worry as much about being too big for rides and sitting on the beach with them. I still struggle with buying smaller clothes but when I fit into something that isn't from the plus size range or a special shop for plus size it's really amazing!

Any notable milestones to report?

9 and a half stone is an amazing milestone for me as I never thought I could do it! I would still like to lose another stone but I'm in no rush, it's a marathon not a sprint.

What 3 tips would you give to anyone who has weight to lose?

  1. Don't feel guilty about what you are eating. Obviously eating healthily has lots of benefits, my skin is so much clearer now but having a day without fruit or veg is not the end of the world!
  2. Don't feel guilty about having a takeaway or cake or chocolate, just fit it into your day. Going over your calories for one day isn't going to ruin your progress.
  3. Drink lots of water. I always add sugar free squash to mine which is fine, it doesn't have to be plain water.
