How much weight have you lost and how long did it take?

I have lost 5st70lbs32kg in 18 months.

What prompted your decision to lose weight?

My health and being unhappy with how I looked, plus being unable to walk long distances with my dogs.

How did you hear about Nutracheck?

I heard about it at a Beeweighed slimming group.

Has your weight stayed fairly consistent over the years, or have you always had to manage it?

I've always had to manage my weight. I lost weight a few years prior to COVID but struggled to keep it off, especially with lockdown as well.

How easy was it to fit the changes you made into your lifestyle?

Quite easy as I enjoy cooking, so I was able to use the app as I made my meals, measuring each ingredient as I went.

What was the most difficult thing about your weight-loss journey?

Guessing the weight of foods when eating out. It was OK if it was a larger food chain but small independent cafes etc I had to take an educated guess.

How do you feel now compared to before?

100% better, my resting heart rate has dropped, less problems with my joints and generally I feel less frumpy.

Any notable milestones to report/non-scale victories?

I dropped clothes sizes, from a size 22 trousers to 10/12. But also, the speed I can walk up a hill or along the flat ground has changed considerably.

What 3 tips would you give to anyone who has weight to lose?

  1. Firstly, you have to do it for YOU. Not because someone tells you that you should. We all know having too much weight is bad for us, but unless you are totally on board with a diet you will not succeed.
  2. Secondly, if you have a bad day, don't beat yourself up over it. There are seven days in a week so one day won't make a huge impact. However, having every day as a bad day will. We all start the day with a clean slate so make each day matter, and if you were really bad the previous day you can always reduce your calories slightly the next day.
  3. Finally, accept compliments (if people make them to you), but ignore those who don't tell you how good you look, or tell you that you don't need to lose more weight. As long as you are a healthy weight and don't become obsessive about your eating habits then do what works for you.
