How much weight have you lost and how long did it take?

I have lost 5st 2lbs72lbs32.7kg. I joined a weight loss group called KCALS in November 2021 and started using Nutracheck, I have since lost weight gradually.

What prompted your decision to lose weight?

I never had any energy. It was hard work to play with my granddaughter, so I knew that something had to be done about my weight if I wanted to join in the fun.

How did you hear about Nutracheck?

I heard about Nutracheck from my leader at KCALS. It has been a fantastic tool during my weight loss journey.

Has your weight stayed fairly consistent over the years, or have you always had to manage it?

I have always been overweight. During COVID, my weight increased a lot. I retired from work in October 2021 and spent 2 weeks watching daytime TV and snacking. I knew something had to change.

Have you experienced any health improvements?

Lots of improvements; I don't get out of breath when I go upstairs or when I go for long walks.

How easy was it to fit the changes you made into your lifestyle?

The changes in counting calories have been easier to manage than I expected. If I am going out with friends, I plan my meals and have a low-calorie breakfast. I never feel deprived. My friends normally comment that my food choice looks so much nicer than theirs.

What was the most difficult thing?

Snacking it was difficult to stop snacking in the evening, but I now track my evening snacks at the start of the day.

How do you feel now compared to before?

So much happier I love buying clothes. I love the compliments I get. I feel proud that I have achieved this weight loss.

Any notable milestones to report?

I can now enjoy playing with my granddaughter in the park. I just used to sit and watch before as I had no energy. I recently had a small operation and the anaesthetist advised that due to my 5 stone weight loss he would only need to use half the anaesthetic that he would have previously had to use. I can bend to cut toenails. I can keep up with friends when out walking.

What 3 tips would you give to anyone who has weight to lose?

  1. Plan your day/week, especially if you have a lot of social events.
  2. Track everything that you eat on Nutracheck. Even milk in tea. Sauces that you add to food. Nutracheck has helped so much.
  3. I attend KCALS and I would recommend always going to class. The support that I received from the leader and members encourages me always.
