How much weight have you lost and how long did it take?

I started my journey on January 5th at 18st 6lbs258lbs117kg, and today I weigh 12st 1lb169lbs76.7kg. That’s over 6st 5lbs89lbs40.4kg lost, and it honestly feels like I’ve gained a whole new life.

What prompted your decision to lose weight?

I reached a point where I just didn't feel like myself anymore. Working from home made it too easy to move less and snack more, and I was feeling tired and uncomfortable in my own body. I wanted to get healthier, have more energy, and feel proud of how I looked.

How did you hear about Nutracheck?

I found Nutracheck while searching for an easy, UK-based calorie tracking app. The reviews were so positive, and it looked simple to use – so I decided to try it. It turned out to be exactly what I needed to stay consistent and accountable.

Has your weight stayed fairly consistent over the years, or have you always had to manage it?

My weight has fluctuated over the years. At my biggest, I was nearly 24 stone. I've always had to keep an eye on it, but it became more of a challenge once I started working from home. I realised I needed to make a real change rather than another short-term effort.

Have you experienced any health improvements?

Absolutely. My energy levels have improved so much – I can walk further, sleep better, and just feel more alive. My joints don't ache like they used to, and even everyday things like getting dressed or climbing stairs feel easier.

How easy was it to fit the changes you made into your lifestyle?

At first, it felt like a big adjustment, but once I found my rhythm, it became part of daily life. I built regular walking into my routine and tracked what I ate honestly. I didn't cut everything out - I just became more mindful, and it's made a huge difference.

What was the most difficult thing about your weight-loss journey?

Staying consistent during plateaus was definitely the hardest part. When the scales didn't move for a while, it was tempting to get discouraged - but I learned to focus on how much better I felt instead of just the numbers.

How do you feel now compared to before?

It's honestly like night and day. I feel lighter, fitter, and more confident in myself. I have more energy to enjoy life, and I'm proud of how far I've come. It's not just about the weight - it's about feeling strong and capable again.

Any notable milestones to report?

I still remember the moment I lost my first stone - it gave me such a boost and made me realise I could actually do this. By the time I went on holiday, I felt so much more comfortable in my clothes and in myself.

What 3 tips would you give to anyone who has weight to lose?

  1. Be patient and trust the process. Progress isn't always linear, but consistency wins.
  2. Track everything honestly. Seeing what you eat in black and white is eye-opening.
  3. Make small, realistic changes. You don't need to be perfect - just keep going and don't give up. One day you'll look back and realise how far you've come.
