How much weight have you lost and how long did it take?

Thirty kilograms and it took six months and a week.

What prompted your decision to lose weight?

Someone I haven't seen for ages very politely told me that I am fat.

How did you hear about Nutracheck?

I was looking for an app to monitor food in the Google Play Store.

Has your weight stayed fairly consistent over the years, or have you always had to manage it?

It was creeping up for the last fifteen years.

Have you experienced any health improvements?

I've been told I have stopped snoring and noticed an improvement in the quality of my sleep.

How easy was it to fit the changes you made into your lifestyle?

Previously I didn't eat breakfast and didn't pay much attention to the food quality. I was always eating lots of fruits and vegetables but also cookies, pastries and bread. Now being more conscious of what I'm eating I'm more careful with my food choices. Choosing celery over dates and diluted wine over ale.

How do you feel now compared to before?

I feel good. I have been in the parts of my garage I could not squeeze in before.

Any notable milestones to report?

I wore shorts from May until the end of September. When I wore long trousers for the first time, they were significantly oversized. I went down from a size 36" to a size 28".

What 3 tips would you give to anyone who has weight to lose?

  1. Get a step counter (Garmin, fitbit etc). Recommended calorie intake doesn't count energy used to move. I got an extra 400 calories worth of food by just making over ten thousand steps.
  2. Use the kitchen scale weigh and record everything, every single strawberry or a date. You'll be surprised how much all those little pleasures add up.
  3. Also I'd like to emphasise that I lost it only to Nutracheck and counting calories. I didn't go to the gym or start running or anything along those lines. The only difference in my activity was parking in the far corner of a parking lot and choosing Tesco Express over Costcutter (4000 vs 2500 steps round trip).
