How much weight have you lost and how long did it take?

I've lost 9 stones (126lbs) to date. I started my weight loss journey in July 2020, so almost 3 years.

What prompted your decision to lose weight?

I was on holiday in Cornwall. My daughter and I had gone to a pride festival, sat on the grass and watched a concert. When it was time to leave, I couldn't get up from the ground, it was so humiliating, lots of people watched me struggle.

How did you hear about Nutracheck?

I started following other people on YouTube and saw the success they were having with Nutracheck.

Has your weight stayed fairly consistent over the years, or have you always had to manage it?

I'd tried counting calories before but gave up when I'd run out of calories by lunch time. I've struggled with my weight all my adult life.

Have you experienced any health improvements?

I had a pinched nerve in my groin, which meant if I stood for longer than 10 minutes, my left leg would go numb. And if I didn't sit down, it would ache for hours. I didn't sleep well due to aching hips and knees. Since losing the weight, my pinched nerve has gone, no more issues and my sleep has improved because my hips and knees no longer ache.

How easy was it to fit the changes you made into your lifestyle?

I made the changes, forcing myself to walk more. I got some ear buds and walked to upbeat music, going from 3k a day to 10k, now some days I do 20k. I cook my own food, and don't pick!

What was the most difficult thing?

I think the most difficult thing was the realisation that I wasted a lot of time trapped in a fat body wishing I was slimmer, instead of actually doing something about it sensibly.

How do you feel now compared to before?

I'm a different person now. I'm so much happier, always busy, I used to spend my days off laying on the sofa watching TV grazing on chocolate and crisps - I hardly ever turn the TV on these days. I'm busy doing other things like going to the gym (which I do 3 times a week). It's a 4-mile round trip, and yes I walk there and back!

Any notable milestones to report?

I've completed Couch to 5k and raised £200 for Cancer Research by dog-walking 2 miles a day every day in October last year. I made an Instagram account to keep me accountable where I post my meals - it's like a food diary and I have over 2300 followers now. I also won the biggest transformation award at my local gym group!

What 3 tips would you give to anyone who has weight to lose?

  1. Cook from scratch.
  2. Move more, walk every day.
  3. Be accountable. If you eat that extra sweet, count it, otherwise you’re only lying to yourself.
