How much weight have you lost and how long did it take?

I have lost 4st56lbs25.4kg in a year.

What prompted your decision to lose weight?

I wanted to lose weight because I didn't feel like myself. After having two kids, I felt a little lost but when my youngest was 2, I decided I needed to put myself back in the frame.

How did you hear about Nutracheck?

I found Nutracheck through Google and saw that it was more suited to the British market than other apps.

Has your weight stayed fairly consistent over the years, or have you always had to manage it?

My weight has always been consistent. I have been a dress size 10 or 12 until I had two big babies and it slowly crept up. I had a pair of size 18 trousers that were getting a little too snug and I didn't want to buy a 20, that just didn't feel normal for me and my body. Instead of buying new clothes, I lost weight to get back into old ones.

Have you experienced any health improvements?

I've always been fairly healthy but the energy was lacking. That is now back for sure!

How easy was it to fit the changes you made into your lifestyle?

I honestly found it so easy to make the changes, and tracking everything was a real eye-opener for me. It made me realise that the treats I'd been enjoying were not doing me any good! I started looking at food completely differently from then on.

What was the most difficult thing about your weight-loss journey?

I really don't think I've found anything too difficult. I was in the right mindset and I could see the impact straight away so knew I was doing right by myself.

How do you feel now compared to before?

I feel happier, more confident, energised and excited by how far I've come.

Any notable milestones to report?

Each stone felt like a huge milestone and then getting to 4 stone and maintaining, it feels brilliant! I've not needed to track my food as closely for the past few months, because I feel like I gave myself a nutritional education for 7/8 months and learned so much through the app about what was right and wrong for me.

What 3 tips would you give to anyone who has weight to lose?

  1. Move more. Fit exercise into a part of the day where you know you can keep it up. Mine is daily yoga at 5:45am. It's early but waking up for that is much better than waking up 45 minutes later to what I call the Rice Krispie alarm "Mum I want some Rice Krispies!"
  2. Drink water. I can 100% tell when I haven't drunk my quota.
  3. Track everything to begin with. Once I understood portion sizes, it changed everything for me.
