I'm taking Warfarin - should I change my calorie intake?

I have just been put onto warfarin and I'm just wondering if my food intake will need to change due to my blood being thinner? Also everything seems harder to do and I get worn out quicker. I know this may be a silly question but I want to do this correctly and healthily.

Our expert says...

Changing your diet can affect your Warfarin levels, particularly if you begin to eat more fruit and veg or salad, or if you change the amount of fatty food you've been eating, so it is really important that you speak to your GP about your diet, to make sure you are doing the right thing for the level of Warfarin that you are on.

Unfortunately because this is a medical issue, and any advice depends on your personal medical history, we're not able to give you any specific advice.

Once you have spoken to your GP, and he/she has given you the go ahead to make any changes then we'd be more than happy to help.
